![]() ![]() ![]() Mark and Eddie not only know their history, but they know the history behind each item in their museum. Go visit them if you’re interested in military history ! You can financially support them on their Facebook page. This place relies on donations - financial, physical, and time. ![]() I’ll have to return again in the future to get a recap, and to see what’s new. I was so fascinated with everything that I didn’t take a single picture during my tour. He showed me all of the military vehicles out in the yard. Mark and I sat down, and we casually talked about the military, and other related museums around the country. It was an open dialogue, so I was able to share some of my own personal military history (36+ years). Eddie took me on a personal tour of all of the museum buildings and rooms, and he shared with me the fascinating stories behind the various displays and exhibits. I was actually greeted as I got out of my car by Mark and Eddie. Like the aviation building, it was shut!! So maybe a bit churlish considering the admission prices to give a low mark but I felt it all could have been so much better. This place is absolutely incredible ! I arrived shortly after they opened for the day at around 9:15 AM, and I was there for nearly 2 hours. Further on there is another building containing jeeps, carriages and other interesting looking vehicles. Unfortunately you could only see in through the glass door as it was closed. However, there is a separate building regarding aviation. Now unless you are a scholar of these things, one cannon or tank looks much like any other. ![]() Here there are a mass of cannons, tanks, a helicopter. ( it is I believe a legal requirement that all museums must state this). Very many of these pieces are just copies though. The fee for me a pensioner to go in was about 50p but to take photos was about £8.50 !! The inside is on two levels and contains many relics of centuries gone by, swords, axes, helmets and so on. Along with many other establishments in Bucharest, the fee for taking photographs makes people just refuse to pay it. After quite a long walk to get there, the pleasant surprise was it is very cheap to go in. ![]()
